Refund Policy

Effective Date: 07/17/2025
This policy outlines the terms regarding cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds for all photography services provided by Silks and Shadows Photography.

1. Booking Retainer

A non-refundable retainer fee is required to reserve all sessions. This fee secures your date and time and covers administrative preparation. It will be applied toward your total session fee. Without payment of this retainer, your session will not be confirmed.

The retainer is non-refundable under any circumstances.

2. Rescheduling

Clients may reschedule their session one time, provided at least 48 hours' notice is given. Rescheduling is subject to availability.

If a second reschedule is requested, a new retainer fee will be required to hold the new date.

3. Cancellations

If a client chooses to cancel their session:

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session may be eligible for a refund of any amount paid beyond the non-refundable retainer.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session will forfeit all payments made.

  • Failure to attend the scheduled session without notice ("no-show") will result in a charge of 100% of the session fee and forfeiture of all payments.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are only issued under the following conditions:

  • The photographer is unable to perform the session due to personal emergency or unforeseen circumstances and a suitable reschedule cannot be agreed upon.

  • A technical failure (e.g., loss of images or equipment malfunction) occurs and no usable images can be provided.

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Client dissatisfaction due to personal appearance, outfit choices, weather, or location preferences.

  • Final edits or artistic style, once agreed upon prior to or during the session.

  • Delivered digital files or print orders.

All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email.

5. Weather and Emergencies

In cases of inclement weather or photographer emergency, sessions will be rescheduled at no additional charge. If rescheduling is not possible, the client will receive a full refund, including the retainer.

If the client experiences a true emergency, reasonable accommodation will be made, and rescheduling may be allowed at the photographer’s discretion.

6. Delivery of Images

Final images will be delivered within the timeframe stated in the session agreement. Once images are delivered, no refunds will be provided.

Minor retouching requests may be considered at the photographer’s discretion. Additional edits may incur an added fee.
